Ministries, Department, Agencies and Extra -Ministerial Department with offices in the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase 1, Abuja, have agreed on the need to adopt measures that would help check the spread of Covid-19 among staff reporting for duties.
The meeting which was called at the instance of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA) Mr. Olusade Adesola was held at the Ministry's conference room, Federal Secretariat on Wednesday, 25th March, 2020 in Abuja.
According to Mr. Olusade Adesola, the meeting is geared towards heightening the safety measures in the Secretariat Complex and ensuring that the risk of the infection is seriously minimized among staff that are still expected to report for work at the complex.
The Permanent Secretary noted that the first major step was to limit access to the complex through the various access gates that have been identified.
He also explained that the seven access gates that have been identified would be reduced to at least five.
The Deputy Director/Head of Federal Medical Centre in the complex, Dr. Isaac Agbor and other MDA's/agencies representatives present at the meeting agreed that, there was need to limit access entry to the complex.
They deliberated on the essence of providing Infra-Red Thermometer, Sanitizers, Hand gloves, as well as station one Medical Personnel each at the various entrances and ensure that the Elevators and floors were regularly cleaned with disinfectants.
They alluded to the need to set up Monitoring Committee that will ensure that the needful is done.
