Ministry Of Niger Delta Development Holds Workshop On Performance Management System (May 21, 2024)

Permanent Secretary Ministry of Niger Delta Development (MNDD) Dr Shuaib Belgore OON has reiterated that the Performance Management System (PMS) has come to stay as the new parameter for appraising Civil Servants for improved performance and productivity.
Dr. Belgore made this statement during a workshop for management and all staff of the ministry. The two-day workshop was organized by the Human Resource Department in conjunction with the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) physically and Online, from 20th - 21st May, 2024, in Abuja.
According to the Permanent Secretary, "it is expedient to organize the PMS workshop for all Management and Staff of the Ministry as part of efforts to propel the Ministry towards the realization of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implemention Plan (FCSSIP) 2021 - 2025, which is designed to galvanize the service into greater heights thereby prompting national development".
Speaking further, he noted that Performance Management is a tool for measuring and tracking the Ministerial Performance Scorecard which is made up of Presidential, Operational and Service Wide priorities, that will enable the delivery of Presidential Priorities, the Key Result Areas and the Key Performance Indicators that will be assigned to each task, given to the Departments and Units.
"The process of cascading the objectives to the Departments and Units, marks the beginning of the 2024 Annual Modern PMS for the Ministry as mandated by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the federation (OHCSF)".
"May I State that PMS is here to stay as the APER System has been abolished and henceforth PMS will be an important part of the promotion process", he noted.
